The unofficial reviews.
Imagined reactions—not customer reviews.
“Now my 3-year-old can see what’s playing and doesn’t ask to see my phone.”
“An audiophile’s worst nightmare.”
“This is how you’re using your Electrical Engineering Master’s degree?”
“I already own this album in four formats.”
“Could this have been an app?”
A few
liner notes.
Does it play vinyl records?+
The disc really spins, but it doesn’t play vinyl. The center screen displays album artwork.
How does music get to it?+
SPNDL+ is designed to receive Bluetooth audio from your phone. SPNDL-QT has no built-in speakers. Spotify playback and artwork have been demonstrated on the prototype. More services and player setups are planned; we’ll confirm supported phone and speaker combinations before taking orders.
Can I choose how it looks?+
That’s the idea. Explore disc colors, shapes and lighting in the studio above. These are design previews; the final launch selection will be announced after testing.
Can I display it on a shelf?+
Yes. Both families can sit flat, and we have designed separate clip-on heels for SPNDL-QT and SPNDL+ to stand nearly upright. Each heel fits its family’s standard and Aura versions. These are planned optional accessories; final fit and stability testing is still pending.
Can I swap the disc later?+
Yes—the disc is replaceable, so you can change the look after choosing your SPNDL. Additional disc packs are planned for separate purchase. Pack sizes, finishes, prices and availability will be announced before they go on sale.
Will the screen have touch controls?+
No. Both versions use a non-touch display. Lighting controls are planned through our free companion app; final app support will be confirmed before orders open.
Can I buy one yet?+
Not yet. We’re preparing a $25 refundable deposit for all four models, credited in full toward your purchase. Payments are disabled today; the free list only signs you up for updates. We’ll publish the final offer before deposits open. See how the deposit will work ↗
Is the $25 deposit refundable?+
Yes. Under the planned offer, you can cancel before confirming your final order and receive the full $25 back, with no cancellation fee. If the batch does not go ahead by the published decision deadline, we’ll automatically refund the deposit. The remaining balance will never be charged automatically. Deposits are not open yet.
Could a larger batch lower the price?+
Possibly. We’ll compare supplier quotes with committed order quantities before offering a discount. Free signups help us plan, but don’t unlock a price or reserve stock. If we later offer quantity-based pricing, we’ll publish its cutoff and conditions first, and apply any earned reduction equally to the same configuration in that batch.
When will the first batch ship?+
Shipping is not scheduled yet. Before accepting deposits, we’ll publish an estimated shipping window and a fixed date to decide whether the batch goes ahead. That decision date is separate from shipping. If the batch does not proceed by its deadline, deposits will be automatically refunded.
